Be here now
I faced my usual challenge walking the dogs this morning. (If you noticed a change from singular to plural, that’s because Mabel, my daughter’s pup is with me for the summer.)
The challenge is to try to stay present in the beauty of the moment instead of letting my mind race through a to-do list or worrying or anything instead of just breathing and seeing and being grateful.
The sunlight through the trees on the riverside path brings me back. Dappled.
Even typing that word makes me smile.
“Dappled” is a beautiful word.
I have to either take the dog to the dog park and let him roam without the leash or not take him at all. Otherwise, I’m obsessed with not getting pulled off my feet and can’t see beyond the imminent danger of a flatter nose. Forget noticing anything else. LOL
And yes, I love the word dappled. It brings back summer days in the woods and late nights under the moon.
